    News Update February 1, 2007

  • Hello! I hope the new year has been bringing you all happy times and good health.
This has been quite an eventful 2 months for me and the band. We've been doing quite a bit of playing around the L.A. area and had wonderful success at our NAMM performance at the "Sabian Live!" event. There are a few videos of our performances floating around online, but the 2 that I know of can be found here, along with some clips from the rest of the concert:
    http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=SabianVault
You'll notice our videos are listed as "Tom Brechtlein"-one of the Sabian endorsing artists of the evening. The first clip (7:00 minutes long) is of "Outside In" from my CD "Dark Blue Dream". The second clip (4:25 minutes long) is of "3 Til Dawn", also from "Dark Blue Dream".

  • Aside from my commitment to the band, I've been quite busy in studio work lately. I got invited to play on Steve Lukather's new upcoming CD. I went to the studio in the late afternoon and had an absolute blast! On one of the songs Luke even had me trade solos with him. I was really happy to be a part of what I believe will be a very special CD. Steve Lukather is not only a great guitarist, great composer and lyricist, but also one of the best hangs I've ever experienced! After the session, Renee and I had fun having dinner with Luke and his kids.

  • Yet another project that I've gotten involved in recently is with Jason Scheff. (Vocalist/bassist in the band "Chicago") The other members of the band are Larry Klimas-woodwinds, Tom Brechtlein-drums, and Jeff Babko-keys. Yep, you saw that right... 2 keyboard players! Jeff is a wonderful musician and we had some really cool moments playing together. (by the way, he is playing on a lot of Steve Lukather's new CD as well) Jason's intention was and is to create a 'jam band' atmosphere that reflects the realities of everyday life. No rehearsals, no music or preconceived musical ideas, no sound check, just go... as simple as that. You can hear some clips of our sessions at: http://myspace.com/liferecord

  • On the subject of myspace.com, I want to let you know I have a site running there. The site address is:
    http://www.myspace.com/steveweingart
There is also a "Nu Alliance" myspace site running with a little more info on each member of the band. Here is the address for that site: http://www.myspace.com/nualliance

  • There are some new items to see in the 'press' area:
The "Dark Blue Dream" press release by Will Minting has been translated into French (Mathieu Hubert), Italian (Domenico Turiano), Norwegian (Eirik Steenhoff) and Danish (Sune Schack). A big "Thank You" to the translators!
You will also find a very nice review of "Dark Blue Dream" written by Roberto 'BOB' Baruffaldi from Italy. He runs his own web site that focuses on music and drumming. His web site address is: http://www.thedrumland.com

    News Update November 28, 2006

Hello! The holiday season is arriving soon. I hope you all enjoy the festivities of this time of year.

  • I want to start off by letting you know that I've started a new myspace.com website that I will run in tandem with this one. The address is:
    http://www.myspace.com/steveweingart
You might have noticed that the 'photos' page has remained under construction for a long time. I've decided to post my photos in the http://www.myspace.com/steveweingart web site, as it is much easier to manage photos there. I intend to also upload some videos there in the near future as well. I will look for some other options to replace the 'photos' area on this site. Please check both sites and enjoy some new items at each location.

  • There are some new items to see in the 'press' area:
One is the "Dark Blue Dream" press release by Will Minting. He wrote a nice news release about the CD.
You will also find a couple of press releases translated in French by Mathieu Hubert. Thanks Mathieu! I've been informed that press releases will be available soon in German, Dutch and Spanish. These will get posted here as they come available.
Mathieu has also created a blog http://www.steveweingart.skyblog.com Please visit the site and feel free to post comments. (all nice, of course!)
If you haven't seen the extra liner notes for the CD, you can still see them in the 'press' area as well.

  • I'd like to let you know that in addition to the 'store' here, CDbaby, Abstract Logix and AudiophileImports, my CDs are now also available at amazon.com. Here is the link to my page there: amazon.com

  • Last-but not least, I've got a few live performances coming up soon in the L.A. area. Please check out the details in the 'calendar' section.
Thats all for now-more soon! Cheers, Steve

News update on November 8, 06

  • Welcome friends! Thanks for visiting. The site is still under a bit of construction. The biggest thing missing here is the photo page. I'll be addressing that soon and hopefully adding to what was already there.
  • I would like to invite you to have a look at the 'liner notes' on "Dark Blue Dream" in the 'press' section. There is a little more info there than what is on the CD itself along with the track listing.
  • You can listen to sound clips of this CD and of "Life Times Vol. 1" in the 'audio & video' section. I'm planning to bring a whole lot of new videos into this section soon. I have some footage of a video shoot I did with William Kennedy, Carlitos Del Puerto and Gary Meek.
  • The new "Dark Blue Dream" CD is available at: CDbaby, Abstract Logix and AudiophileImports
  • If you'd like a personalized, signed CD, you can order through the 'store' link to the left.
  • More news soon!

    -Getting Back Online-
Hello friends. As of last Friday, the 20th of October, this web site was unexpectedly shut down. Unfortunately, most of the changes made over the last 6 months are gone, so I'm now in the process of trying to get most of that data back and put in the right place. Thank you for your patience during this short rebuild period.

    -Under Construction-
I'm learning a lot about html programming. Much respect to those who do this kind of work!
You'll notice there are "Under Construction." notices in a lot of areas. I'm hoping to get these sections back online soon. If you happened to visit here on October 25th, you saw a lot of error code dotted around the site. I'm glad that I was able to at least get rid of those goofy error messages! In any case, I'll have everything back to normal soon. I'll be changing the appearance of the site pretty soon. I'm looking forward to adding some new video clips and will be adding some extra features here and there.
Thanks again for your continued support and patience with the site rebuilding process.

    -Dark Blue Dream-

My 2nd CD "Dark Blue Dream" was released a matter of hours before this web site unexpectedly shut down. (I still can't believe the timing!) I haven't sent out the e-mail advertising flyers to those on my mailing list yet as I am still trying to recover and get back to 'normal operation' here. I plan to send this e-mail out early next week. If you are on my mailing list, you'll be seeing an e-mail from me then. If you haven't yet joined the mailing list, you can do so by clicking on the link to the upper right. In the meantime, it is available here by clicking on the 'store' link to the left, CDbaby, Abstract Logix and AudiophileImports. You can listen to some sound clips of "Dark Blue Dream" and of my 1st CD "Life Times Vol.1" by clicking on the 'Audio & Video' link to the left.
I'm starting to get caught up little by little.... please check back soon for more info.
