"Dark Blue Dream" is my 2nd CD release. In considering the direction I wanted to explore in this album, I chose to go the route of capturing one take, live performances. With the exceptions of 'Soundscape 1', 'Soundscape 4', 'Unforgotten Path', and 'Outside In part 2' (which were written and recorded simultaneously), the rest of the songs were recorded live as if we were performing a concert. I'm also proud to present my wife Renee's wonderful bass playing and singing. We really enjoyed our time in the studio together, and I believe you can hear that in the music. The music in this CD is best described as Jazz/Funk. In the writing process for this CD I found myself inspired by current artists as well as 'classic' artists. In addition to jazz and funk, I'm also passionate about classical music. I included a short improvised piano solo that introduces my arrangement of a string quartet piece written by my wife Renee to close the CD. This CD was recorded on Macintosh computers using the'Mark of the Unicorn' 2408 and 896 Digital Audio Recording Systems utilizing Digital Performer software by 'Mark of the Unicorn'. I played a Steinway B Model piano recorded with two AKG C12VR microphones, 2 Neve 1073 pre amplifiers and an Apogee PSX100SE Word Clock.
